Happy Holidays, it’s been a minute. I’ve been slow to this party, but better late than never so let’s catch up!
The past year has been a whirlwind on just about every front. Personally, professionally, politically, you name it - BIG changes everywhere - but we’ve made it this far and that’s something. Connecting on social media has been a challenge for me for the last fourteen months and I’m slowly dipping my toes back into the water. Maybe it’s a bit premature, overly optimistic even, but I’m hopeful. I believe that in the midst of all the chaos and heartbreak surrounding us, seeds of compassion are sown, nurtured, and that in the end we’ll be better for it.
And that’s what is on my mind as I write this. I’ve always preferred to search for the silver linings rather than dwell in the negativity thrust upon us at lighting bolt speed these days. They’re out there, I promise. Keep your eyes and hearts open and you will find them in the most unexpected places. Writing romance novels has given me the opportunity to embrace this and get comfortable with the notion that I like happy endings.
The past twelve months have blessed me with more grandchildren, a song from the man who keeps me grounded and makes every day more fun, new friendships, travel, athletic endeavors I’d not imagined for myself, and most importantly, contentment. I’m appreciate knowing that I don’t have to do it all. Ever! Fulfilled completely, understanding that what is most important to me is the love I extend to those who matter most.

Bringing back a couple of family traditions this year proved to be especially satisfying. A cookie swap with family, friends, and colleagues, and holiday shopping and dinner with my children and grandchildren. Each experience was a great reminder that being present, letting go of expectations and just enjoying exactly where you are is a great recipe for success.
NY resolutions don’t work for me, but I do set intentions and in 2025 I want to focus my rescue efforts on senior horses. Sweet Rosie has saved me in more ways than I can count. Senior rescues are the hardest to adopt out, yet the gifts they give us can’t be wrapped. Try it, I promise you won’t regret it. I’m discussing more dogs with Grazia, but for now she’s enjoying being an only child so I’ll have to keep you posted on those developments.
With all my heart, I pray for a more peaceful, loving way forward for our world. I hope your Holiday and New Year are filled with joy, surrounded by those you love.
